Ruby Kapka is an artist, craftsperson and designer living in the Bay Area of California.
Currently she is creating in the fields of graphic design, web design, print & books and knitwear.


Ruby’s graphics expertise includes both digital and print design, as well as extensive experience with a professional level of hands-on printing.  She has managed Letterpress shops as the head printer, as well as training new technicians on the equipment. She ran her own Risograph print shop where she produced fine art prints, books, flyers, business cards, and more for clients and herself.

She has also prepped and sent many jobs to print including full book projects, offset book covers flyers, indigo print book guts, and more typical modes of printing. She has sourced print & bindery shops to work with and has extensive experience sourcing a wide variety of materials for shop use, from paper to ink to packaging materials and much more.


In her web design practice, Ruby combines her well of knowledge of hands-on printing and her digital design & coding experience. The result are websites that dreamily live half way between the analog and digital realms, while remaining fully responsive and functional. She loves creating graphics that mimic printed logos and ephemera for use on these websites.

Ruby’s materials & product developement, design and production experience includes knitwear and sewn garments. She is majority self-taught in this area and proud of her high level of technical expertise.  She has extensive experience sourcing materials and refining designs with a luxury product in mind.
